Although placing your drum in direct sunlight or in close proximity to fire will temporarily tighten your drum, this technique is recommended.
1: Loosen the rope & find the last knot. 2: Go under first two vertical ropes and then back under the first rope. 3: Once ropes are twisted, look at top of ropes to determine which one is first. 4: Pull until the two ropes are twisted over each other. 5: Be sure to pull down and over to prevent diamonds from becoming too large. 6: Continue process until the sound is pleasing When properly tightened, the drum will produce a wide range of sounds from the deep bass in the center to a high, sharp slap closer to the rim. 7: Once satisfied with the sound, wrap the remaining rope around the drum and tie off.
